UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is visiting Ukraine and Russia. He is going on this tour from next Tuesday. He is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Guterres’ associate spokesman Eri Kaneko made the announcement at a news briefing in New York. According to a report by Reuters, a UK-based news outlet.
The United Nations says Guterres will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday. He will also attend a meeting and lunch with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The UN Secretary General will pay a visit to Ukraine on Thursday. Apart from Volodymyr Zelensky, he is also scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he will meet directly with the President of Ukraine, if effective results come. During talks with European Council President Charles Michel, Putin claimed that Kiev was not ready to find a mutually acceptable solution.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently said Moscow had handed over documents to Ukraine to advance peace talks. As a result, the ball is now in the court of Ukraine. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that his country had not received any documents from Russia.
