The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is uncertain whether Shakib Al Hasan will be available in the two Tests against Sri Lanka at home after Eid.
Shakib left the country after playing ODI series against South Africa due to family problems. He did not stay long after returning to the country. Her daughter Alaina Hassan Aubri had to leave for America after her school opened. Shakib’s mother-in-law died of cancer a few days ago. However, the rest of the sick family has recovered.
The Sri Lanka series camp will start from May 7. The first Test between the two teams will start on May 15 in Chittagong. Cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said they would know the decision from Shakib in a day or two.
Test against Sri Lankans
After discussing the selectors, team director and chief executive in Mirpur on Sunday, he said, “I will know from Shakib in a day or two. Talking to her, since her mother-in-law died a few days ago, she had a lot of personal problems. That’s why we didn’t tell him anything. We can get him if his family problem is solved.
