Sometimes though, many travelers cannot travel without encountering a few hassles. Not all trips happen as planned, and that’s fine. However, some trips become stressful for some travelers, and one of the common reasons is the presence of a lot of people, both locals and tourists. It’s not a big problem for some who don’t actually mind, but generally, it’s quite bothersome to travel in crowded destinations. Why? Because you have to fall in long lines, get stuck in heavy traffic, take pictures with strangers photobombing them, and somehow waste some precious time because of waiting. Those are just some of the many reasons, honestly.

Instead of having a great time, you are having a battle with your patience levels in such situations. That’s why it’s important to be prepared and wise when planning for your trips and when traveling. While you may not be able to fully get rid of people in tourist spots you visit, you can do some things to be one step ahead of them.

Here are 6 tips to avoid too many crowds when traveling. You will still encounter people, but with these tips, you can lessen the hassles! Read on.

1 – Visit popular places early or late.

Time is gold, and timing is key. If you want to dodge the dreadful waiting time in tourist spots and restaurants, adjust your schedule per itinerary, considering the peak hours. If you are going to visit popular places, travel destinations that come up when searching for tourists’ must-see attractions, then choose to go early or late.

Go before most people go. That’s literally early in the morning or at the opening hour of the place. Surely, you can enjoy a quieter visit to these well-known tourist spots if everyone else is still sleeping at home while you are swift and early. You will enjoy taking photos without strangers photobombing you at the back. You can feel that you almost have the whole place just for you because there aren’t so many people yet. If you wish to go really early with your family or with a group of friends, make sure that everyone wakes up early too.

Meanwhile, if you are not a morning type of person, you may choose to visit those famous holiday spots later in the day. You could put them at the bottom of your day trip’s itinerary list. Visiting them late at night or when they are close to closing could be a helpful tip. However, you should not go too late if it’s a place where you must and want to stay long – like in a museum or in a restaurant.

2 – Search for hidden tourist spots.

If you want to stay isolated from big crowds, search for attractions that almost nobody knows, if there’s any. You can see them by looking up online or by listening to locals’ word of mouth.

Search for hidden tourist spots! They are usually underrated because not many people know them – commonly since they are located in remote areas or since they do not have online presence. Some are also newly opened, so they are still establishing a good reputation.

Hidden tourist destinations are truly enjoyable because aside from cutting out of crowds, they are situated in locations embraced by nature. They are really stunning. You might not even expect their charm since they are in secret! Others are just within a crowded city, and it’s not so obvious because they are like in a different world. That’s the charisma of these hidden travel destinations!

Take this great opportunity because when these hidden tourist spots become really famous in the future, you will regret ignoring it while it’s not yet very well-loved!

3 – Lodge in a five-star hotel.

Avoid too many crowds that bring you tons of hassles as a traveler. Have a restful and untroubled stay in a five-star hotel accommodation. Arrive safely from your flight and lodge in a hotel that brings you warmth and gives you relaxation after a long trip on air. Keep your luggage safe while strolling around the country without worry. Go back to the hotel room after a tiring but happy trip, and get that soothing end-of-day hush!

Choosing a high-quality hotel accommodation is not just about resting and sleeping in but also about delicious food and drinks that will delight your tummy! Good hotels definitely offer awesome selections of cuisines that satisfy guests and give them a remarkable foodie experience as well. Not only that too because five-star hotels have top-notch amenities and facilities that will shoo visitors’ exhaustion and boredom away.

Just take note that booking a five-star hotel accommodation might be quite pricey, but that’s what makes them not very popular to many crowds. That means if you want to forget the crowds for your trip’s stay, then you have to be ready to spend some money. Nevertheless, it’s going to be worth it!

4 – Go to famous places during meal time.

Besides going to famous places early or late, visiting during meal time would also be great! Disregard this though if you are talking about famous restaurants and food hubs. Needless to say, they go fully packed when it’s time to eat!

What we mean is if you are going to pop in a visit to art galleries, amusement parks, adult playgrounds and the other tourist spots that are usually well-frequented, then do so during meal time. Why? Obviously, most people will not be there because they are eating somewhere else. They are taking a break from strolling since they are already hungry.

If you take this tip, then make sure you eat early or a bit late. Of course, this will not really apply to places that also take lunch breaks.

5 – Opt for expensive food choices at times.

Undeniably, affordable food chains are more bustling because more people go to them since they are also looking after their budget. Often also, they are more preferred because they are already very close to people’s hearts.

If you wish to avoid dealing with long lines and crowded restaurants, opt for expensive food choices at times and whenever possible. Instead of entering a fast food restaurant, come to the fine dining restaurant just a few steps away from it. The latter is not fully packed; it’s possible that it’s empty by the time you arrive too. And that’s basically because the menu is typically dearly priced.

6 – Book private tours.

For people who want exclusive services to themselves, booking private tours (of any sort) is the best choice. This is ideal for families and friends who want to shy away from crowds. You get all the space for yourself within your booked schedule. You also have your own tour guide or own tour vehicle in these private deals.

It’s awesome to travel and see fellow tourists in the places you visit, however, the smile on your face will fade if you see too many of them. You will easily give up falling in line and waiting for your turn in overly famous destinations and restaurants. If you are willing to wait, then you might waste a lot of time which you can use somewhere else instead. Some of your travel plans and itineraries might be postponed or cancelled from your list because of it. It’s all because of the crowds that make your trip quite more exhausting than relaxing.

Plan your trip early, especially with the reservations you have to make and schedules you need to follow. Keep in mind that you and your travel companions should cooperate well if you all want to dodge the crowds and have a more peaceful trip. Lastly, don’t hesitate to take time searching for and inquiring for many traveler options that would give you great deals while skipping the crowds.

Travel with your family and friends! Enjoy a serene time in the destination of your dreams!
