Russia claims control of the entire city of Mariupol

Russia has demanded that Ukrainian forces take control of the entire city of Mariupol. The country has said it has withdrawn Ukrainian troops from the city. There are only a few more Ukrainian fighters on its outskirts.

Russia made the claim on Saturday, Al Jazeera reported.

According to the report, if Russia finally manages to capture the city, it will be a significant psychological event. Russia will be able to show its citizens a visible victory in the war in Ukraine.

Russia, meanwhile, has demanded the demolition of a military factory in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Russia’s Defense Ministry was quoted by Interfax as saying that the factory in Kiev was producing armored vehicles. A military equipment repair facility in the town of Mykolive was also destroyed.


The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that these military installations in Ukraine were attacked with long-range precision weapons. Moscow has also demanded the downing of a Ukrainian SU-25 in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine.

The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. According to the BBC, these sounds can be heard in the early hours of the day. The air raid siren sounded. Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said in a telegram that an explosion had taken place in the Darnitsky district on the outskirts of the city. He said the number of casualties was not known, adding that rescue workers were working at the scene.
