Sharif surprised everyone by appearing in his office at 8am on Tuesday, the first day of his tenure. He appeared at the bus stand at 8 am on Thursday. The new Prime Minister also got on the bus. The party leaders were also present.

Prime Minister Shahbaz today visited the Peshawar Metro Station of Islamabad Metro Bus Service at 8 am. He directed an inquiry into the unusual delay in the construction of the Metro service route on the route from Peshawar Junction Station to Islamabad International Airport.

The project was undertaken in 2016 to keep Shahbaz’s party PML-N in power. It was supposed to start next year after completion of work. But until today that has not happened. The cost of construction of this 25.6 km long road was estimated at Rs. 1,600 crore. The National Highways Authority (NHA) was supposed to implement the project. But in March last year, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) took over from the National Highways Authority.

During Prime Minister Shahbaz’s visit today, CDA and NHA officials briefed him on the project. Later, the Prime Minister directed to complete the project expeditiously.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister did not visit the project in a bus. Seeing the overall condition of the bus, he instructed to install a luggage rack on the bus for the passengers going to the airport.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam Aurangzeb, Hanif Abbasi and Anjum Akil.

Later, Maryam Aurangzeb tweeted that Imran Khan’s government was playing a ‘foreign conspiracy’ to cover up its incompetence and corruption.
