Mustafiz to Warner, ‘I love you too’

Six years ago, Mustafizur Rahman fell in love with Australian cricketer David Warner. They played together in IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mustafiz made his IPL debut in 2016 under the leadership of Warner. Warner had to learn more or less Bengali language to understand the cutter master. Hyderabad even had bilinguals then.

The chemistry between the two is frozen again in Delhi Capitals. This time both are in the same tent in IPL. Mustafiz missed Warner’s first match due to quarantine in the ongoing 15th edition. The two met on the team bus after that episode. Warner is devastated to see this left-arm pacer of Bangladesh.

He also spoke Bangla on the team bus to express his excitement. As seen in a video released by Delhi Capitals, Warner said as Mustafiz approached, ‘Hey, how are you? I love you! ‘ He later said in English, “It’s good to see you.”

That video has gone viral on social media. This time Mustafiz has expressed his liking for Warner. The two took pictures together in practice on Friday. Posting the photo with Warner, Mustafiz wrote, “I love you too, David Warner.”

In the current edition, Warner-Mustafiz’s team Delhi has won two out of four matches. Tomorrow, on April 17, Delhi will play their fifth match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
