Mohammedan’s farewell even after losing to Mashrafe

Mohammedan Sporting Club formed a star-studded team in the current edition of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Even if the league is not over, the word ‘built’ has to be used. Because, before the end of the league season, the departure of the traditional club has been confirmed. This time the black and white did not get the ticket of Super League. Mohammedan had to finish the league from number seven in the 11-team tournament.

Today (Friday) Mohammedan will face Mashrafe Bin Murtaza’s Legends of Rupganj in their last match of the league. Where Kushal Mendis’s century and Mahmudullah Riyad’s stormy fifty batted first and they scored 306 runs on the scoreboard. Mohammedan won by a huge margin of 70 runs by bowling out Rupganj for 228 runs. However, their victory did not help them.

Mohammedan did not do well from the beginning of the league despite the star-studded team. Still, they kept their hopes alive until the tenth round. However, with the victory of the newcomer Rupganj Tigers on Thursday, all chances are over. Like Gazi Group and Rupganj Tigers, Mohammedan have lost 10 matches in 10 matches with equal points, but they have to face each other, so they have to say goodbye to the league stage.

Regarding DPL’s bylaws, CCDM secretary general Ali Hossain said, “If the points are equal, the rule of the league is maximum victory. Then we will see head to head.” Finally we will see the net run rate. That will be the calculation. ‘

Mohammedan got off to a good start in the opening match by batting first in the BKSP match. Opener Roni Talukder returned with 31 runs but Parvez Hossain Emon picked up a half-century and played an innings of 6 runs off 6 balls. Foreign recruit Sri Lankan cricketer Kushal Mendis hit a century and was dismissed for 101 runs. Where he hit 6 fours and 4 sixes. In the end, Mahmudullah played a stormy innings of 60 runs from 47 balls.
