Mamata is happy to get sweets from Bangladesh

The two-day World Bengal Trade Conference is starting in Kolkata on Wednesday. Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi arrived in Kolkata on Tuesday to attend the conference. He had a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the fair premises in the afternoon. At that time, Mamata was happy to receive the sweets sent by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

Mamata Banerjee said, ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a lot of sweets. I sent that sweet to many. The yellow sweet is great. Everyone is happy to eat that sweet. They say it tastes different.

Andalib Elias, the new Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Kolkata, said that the sweet belongs to Gopalganj. It was made in the morning and sent to Calcutta day by day. At that time, Mamata inquired about the health of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the Commerce Minister.

In Tuesday’s meeting, Tipu Munshi spoke with Mamata about Bangladesh’s industry and trade. At this time the various contributions of the people of West Bengal in the liberation war of Bangladesh were discussed. The talks focused on expanding border trade between the two countries, investment in industry and trade and development of border infrastructure. Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Andalib Elias, West Bengal Industries Minister Perth Chatterjee, former Finance Minister Amit Mitra and Chief Secretary of the state Harikrishna Dwivedi were present on the occasion.

The World Bengal Trade Conference has not been held for the last two years due to Corona. Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the conference at the New Town Convention Hall in Kolkata on Wednesday. Industrialists from home and abroad are coming to Kolkata to join it.
