It is possible to open Padma bridge this year: President

In his message, the President said Bangladesh has already joined Qatar from a least developed country to a developing country. Bangladesh today is a role model to the world in women empowerment.

Bangladesh has made commendable progress in the areas of health, education, power and energy, and information technology, including food self-sufficiency.


He further said, “It will be possible to open the Padma bridge under construction with its own funds this year. Work on mega projects including Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Metro Rail, Elevated Expressway, Karnafuli Tunnel is also progressing uninterruptedly. We are dreaming of a developed Bangladesh in 2041. ‘

On the occasion of Mujibnagar Day, the President remembered Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, three national leaders, 3 million heroic freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in the war of liberation, heroines, martyred intellectuals and people of all walks of life and foreign friends who participated and supported the liberation war.

The President said, “I hope the present generation will know the true history of the Liberation War through the celebration of the historic Mujibnagar Day and will contribute to the formation of ‘Sonar Bangla’ of Bangabandhu’s dream inspired by patriotism.” ‘
