Israel launches airstrikes in Gaza This is the second attack in the region this week.

The bomber struck shortly before dawn on Thursday. News from Al Jazeera.

A fighter jet reportedly attacked an underground rocket engine factory in Gaza.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Witnesses said Israeli airstrikes damaged several houses in the Al-Burez refugee camp in central Gaza.

Israeli police say a rocket was fired from Gaza into southern Israel at night. There was a slight damage to a house. However, no one was injured.

The Israeli military says four more rockets were fired from Gaza after the airstrikes. These were brought down by the Iron Dome, the air defense system.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks in Israel.

Hamas, the group that controls Gaza, said in a statement that the Israeli bombing would only encourage Palestinians to “resist the occupation and increase their support for Jerusalem and its people.”

Small-scale conflicts are creating fears of another major war between Gaza and Israel.

Last year, 250 Palestinians and 13 Israelis were killed in the 11-day Gaza-Israel war.

In March this year, Israeli law enforcement killed at least 29 Palestinians. At least 14 people have been killed in attacks inside Israel.
