Another black man has been shot dead by white police in the United States. Protests have started since the incident. Michigan police released a video Wednesday (April 13th). As the video shows, police are shooting a black man named Patrick in the head. That police officer is white. However, his name was not disclosed.
This incident happened on April 4. As seen in the video, the police officer is sitting on Patrick. Two people are fighting. The police officer then shot 28-year-old Patrick in the head. He died.
Many people took to the streets in protest. Again the sound is heard, “Black Lives Matter”. They gathered outside the police station to protest. They demanded that action be taken against the white police officer.
Patrick was driving. Then the police stopped him. Police claim there was noise on the license plate of Patrick’s car. That license plate is not for that car. As seen in the video, Patrick was running away. He was then seen falling on the street. The police officer pressed on him. The two started fighting.
Police Chief Eric Winstorm said: “It’s very sad. The police department has released the entire video to maintain transparency. ”
Patrick is a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Eric said Patrick and his family fled the country to the United States. Because, he did not want to be in a violent situation in the country. His whole life was lying in front of him.
The police officer who shot him has been working in the police department for seven years. He has been sent on paid leave.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Police violence against blacks has increased in the last few years. Many examples of such violence have surfaced, especially since the George Floyd incident in 2020. There have been strong protests. But the violence is not stopping.
