The directive was given at a cabinet meeting on Monday. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Later, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam announced the decision at a press conference at the Secretariat.

The cabinet secretary said the cabinet had given clear instructions today that no more roads could be constructed in the haor area. If you want to do it, you have to elevate it. He also said that they have been asked to see if the roads that have been built can be bridged from one and a half to two hundred meters in half a kilometer.

In response to a question, the cabinet secretary said there is a bridge. Still asked to do the survey. If water gets stuck somewhere due to the road, consider whether it is possible to build a bridge at a reasonable distance of half a kilometer or so.

These instructions were given to discuss the flood situation in the haor area in advance and the loss of paddy.
