Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the leading religious leader of Eastern Orthodox Christians worldwide, has called for an end to the war in Ukraine.
The cleric described the Russia-Ukraine war as “fratricidal”. He said that any war tarnishes the dignity of the people. Let this fratricidal war be stopped immediately.
Calling for the opening of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine, Ecumenical Patriarch said that what is happening in Ukraine is an indescribable tragedy.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Putin has called for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war. “I think the one who started this war can end it,” Zelensky told a news conference at a Kiev metro station on Saturday.
“I am not afraid to meet with Russian President Putin,” he said. From the beginning I have been insisting on discussing with him. We have confidence in our allies, but we do not have confidence in Russia.
