Rajasthan Royals gave Kolkata Knight Riders a huge victory in the century of Jos Butler. Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer and Umesh Yadav did their best to win. These two batsmen kept Kolkata in the match chasing big goals.

In the end, however, Yuzbendra Chahal’s hat-trick faltered and Kolkata left the field with a bitter taste of defeat against Rajasthan. However, Rajasthan had to wait till the last over to win.

Jos Butler of Rajasthan batted at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. With the bat, Kolkata bowlers have picked up their second century in the current edition. Rajasthan made a huge collection of 216 runs for 5 wickets in the stormy century of this batsman.

Then Kolkata was on the way to victory with the determination of Shreyas. However, Chahal took the match with five wickets including a hat trick. However, after going from bowler to batsman, Umesh Yadav brought Kolkata back in the match. Umesh took 20 runs from one over of Trent Bolt. Kolkata needed 11 runs in the last over, had 2 wickets in hand. From there Kolkata lost two wickets and saw a rate of 6 runs. The team stopped at 210 runs.

Butler lost the toss and elected to bat first. Two batsmen made 80 runs in the powerplay. Butler had 47 runs. Padikkal came to the first boundary in the 8th over. Butler picked up his half-century off 29 balls with four fours off Cummins in that over.

Rajasthan’s opening pair broke the team’s 96 runs; Sunil Narine returned to Padikkal who scored 24 runs. In the second wicket, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson and Butler became more aggressive. These two batsmen made a pair of 75 runs in 5 overs. The pair broke up when Samson returned with 37 runs off 19 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Despite losing two wickets at the other end, Butler completed his century by blowing Cummins over his head off 59 balls. However, after two balls, the English batsman made his way to the pavilion with 103 runs in 9 fours and 5 sixes. In the current season, Butler has scored 365 runs in 6 innings in two centuries. After the departure of this batsman, the pace of the run became a bit slow in Rajasthan.

However, in the end, Rajasthan Royals scored 200 runs thanks to Shimron Hetmeyer’s 27 off 13 balls. Narine took 2 wickets for 21 runs for Kolkata. Except for this spinner, everyone else was at a loss.

Kolkata lost the first ball to chase the target. Then in the second wicket, Aaron Finch and Shreyas changed the course of the match by averaging 107 runs in 9 overs. Finch returned with 57 off 26 balls. After Finch’s departure, no batsman except Shreyas could resist. Shreyas played aggressively at one end and kept Kolkata in the match.

But Chahal left the rest of the surprise. Chahal took 4 wickets for 2 runs in his last over in the 18th over. He also scored a hat trick. Which is the first of this legspinner’s career. Chahal completed his fifties with the 21st hat trick of IPL. He took 5 wickets for 40 runs. Which is the best of Chahal’s career in IPL.

At the end of that over, Kolkata needed 37 runs in 3 overs with 2 wickets in hand. However, Umesh brought Kolkata back in the match with 20 runs in Bolt’s over. At one stage, Kolkata needed 11 runs in the last over. Umesh returned with 21 runs off 9 balls as the last batsman from there and Kolkata left the field with a victory of 8 runs.
