Sri Lanka is burning with mass protests and violence. In the last few days, the anti-government movement has been sparking in the country which is suffering from severe economic crisis. Meanwhile, the country’s cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara said five people had been killed and more than 200 injured, adding that peaceful protesters had been attacked by government-backed thugs.
Kumar Sangakkara, one of the best cricketers in the history of Sri Lanka, is currently the coach of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. He said on Twitter that the protesters were peacefully protesting their basic needs and rights. But they have been attacked by government-backed thugs and bullies. Awful! This terrorism is purely government-sponsored terrorism. This terror is planned and intentional.
Not only Sangakkara, but also the Sri Lankan government is guilty in the eyes of another legendary cricketer Mahela Jayawardene. Mahela also opened his mouth in such a situation of the country. Mumbai Indians coach Mahela posted a video on Twitter showing a woman being beaten. Mahela tweeted that a female protester was being attacked in front of police officers. Government of Sri Lanka, you should be ashamed.
