The engineers believed in code. The product managers believed in quality. But I believed only in the money.

But when Jobs returned, he changed everyone’s power dynamics. Gone were the engineers and product managers afraid of quality; they had to prove Steve wrong. In their place, they had to prove their worth to him. And at that moment, the idea of turning Apple into an American Express rose from the ether. At that moment, the culture of Apple was born. And this culture, perhaps, is what sustains social impact. Steve Jobs was the definition of a world-class leader. And I want to emulate what Apple did.
